'Paradise' we know the word gets used pretty loosely but if it is appropriate for anywhere, it’s Fiji. There are over 300 islands set in crystal clear waters with palm fringed white sandy beaches, lagoons, coral reefs and idyllic places to stay. If it’s white sand beaches, coconut palms, warm turquoise waters and amazing snorkelling and diving that you’re after, then the Yasawa and Mamanuca Islands will not disappoint.

Relaxation is big in Fiji but if you’re in the mood there are incredible activities including hiking, some of the world’s best snorkelling and diving, local villages to visit, cultural activities, hand-line fishing, visits to caves… even swimming with manta rays depending on the season!

THE YASAWA ISLANDS

One of Fiji's most stunning regions, the remote Yasawa Islands group consists of a chain of 20 ancient volcanic islands. Four of these islands have dramatic elevations with summits just short of 600 metres above sea level. The pristine white sandy beaches and dramatic monoliths surrounded by crystal-clear lagoons provide a beautiful environment in which to relax or enjoy the many activities on offer.

The northern islands are home to the famous Blue Lagoon. As the name suggests, the water is the most inviting shades of blue you will ever see!

THE MAMANUCA ISLANDS

The Mamanuca Islands, just off the coast from Denarau, are a series of picture-perfect tiny little islands ringed with white beaches and topped with a forest of coconut palms. These islands offer those beautiful cobalt blue waters, palm fringed long sandy beaches and coral reefs that we all dream of. There are villages and resorts plus fantastic snorkelling and swimming. Awesome Adventures Fiji include some ‘favourites’ from this little group of islands in our packages and island hopping passes. MAMANUCA ENVIRONMENT SOCIETY Awesome Adventures is a member of the Mamanuca Environment Society. The Society was created in March 2003 out of growing concern for the fragile marine and terrestrial ecosystems in this region. Local village communities, tourism operators, government and non-governmental organisations are collaborating and working towards preserving and protecting this Mamanuca Group of Islands. These initiatives are to raise awareness and promote sound environmental practices for the benefit of future generations of communities living, working and visiting the Mamanuca group.
