We first visited the remote Yasawa Islands as travellers ourselves aboard small and simple longboats in the 1990’s, at which time the journey to these islands was, let’s just say ‘adventurous’.
The remote, untouched beauty of the land and the warmth of the people encouraged us (South Sea Cruises Group) to start Yasawa Adventures Fiji, previously known as Awesome Adventures Fiji.
We worked closely with local villagers to enable our maiden passenger voyage in 2002, opening these spectacular islands to travellers from around the globe.
We are not about escorted tours or guided groups but we do take the hassle out of booking and then let you do your own thing.
Our range of Packages and Passes to help you explore the islands at your own pace ensuring your trip is filled with non-stop adventure and/or ultimate relaxation.
Be it a spur of the moment flexible trip or something a bit more organised, we have the right travel options for you.
That’s our style. That’s how we travel.
Fijians are among the world’s friendliest people and our staff along with the people of the Yasawa Islands are no exception.
The majority of our staff are Fijian and wherever you go, you’ll be greeted with a large smile and friendly ‘Bula!’
We work hard to ensure you have the best possible trip and always have our traveler’s enjoyment at heart.
Fiji is home to 333 islands set on crystal-clear waters in the South Pacific. The palm-fringed white sandy beaches, tempting lagoons and colourful reefs are what tropical island dreams are made of.
Set off the western coast of the main island, the Yasawa Islands group is a chain of 20 ancient islands which are rugged, remote and undoubtedly one of the most stunning regions in Fiji.
In the southern Yasawa Islands of Kuata and Waya Lailai, the dramatic elevations, honeycomb rock formations and summits just short of 600 metres above sea level provide a dramatic introduction. The pristine beaches and stunning outlook are a great place to relax or enjoy the many activities on offer including snorkelling with sharks.
As you get further north, the volcanic scene gives way to the azure lagoons and white sandy beaches of the famous Blue Lagoon which truly is a ‘bucket list’ location.
Many of the islands we take you to are home to traditional Fijian villages, which hold true to the colourful, culture and traditions practiced by their ancestors some 3,000 years ago.
The culture is particularly evident at many of the resorts where you’ll be welcome to participate in traditional rituals such as the meke (link to activities page) and kava ceremonies (link to activities page) or take a tour through a local village.
We have a strong relationship with the people of the Yasawa Islands and know how lucky we are to be welcomed into their amazing island’s, so we ensure that we give back to these villages and villagers through the creation of the Yasawa Trust Foundation.

Dramatic and colourful coral reefs have made the Yasawa Islands their home for thousands of years. These unique environments play host to a vast collection of fascinating and striking marine creatures.
Exploring this world is a highlight of any Yasawa Islands holiday but it is also a privilege. Ensuring that these environments are preserved for future generations to enjoy is of utmost importance to us.

Yasawa Adventures Fiji – South Sea Cruises Group (SSCG)
Tuesday 02nd March 2026 – 05.45am
Bula,
As a result of heavy rain and localized flooding over the past 24 hours, SSCG will continue to operate a reduced vessel schedule today, Tuesday 3rd of March 2026. This decision has been on the basis that some road access within the western division is likely to remain impassable this morning, and therefore mobilizing customers and crew to deliver normal operations is unlikely to be without its challenges.
These decisions will also give our island crews an opportunity to clean up and prepare our day trips assets from the impacts of adverse weather over the past several days.
For now, Route 7 travelling to/from the Yasawa Islands is scheduled to operate however SSCG operated day trips to the Yasawa Islands remain suspended for today, Tuesday 3rd of March 2026
Please be advised that whilst the above-named service is currently scheduled to operate, if the weather and/or sea conditions change unexpectedly and/or are at any point deemed not safe to continue operations then services may be altered or suspended with little or no notice in the interest of customer and crew safety.
Customers impacted by the suspension of SSCG products & services can defer their departure to another day or if they are unable to defer travel they can cancel without penalty. Please contact reservations@ssc.com.fj or call +679 9995512 to amend your travel arrangements.
With the weather expected to greatly improve throughout today, all SSCG products and services are scheduled to
operate as normal on Wednesday, 4th of March 2026.
Vinaka.
